St Leonards festival 17th July

Aha!! we have made it to the dizzy heights of the main stage of the St Leonards Festival AT LAST!!!! Oh how long we have waited in the wings for such a chance to shine, to sparkle, to show the world what we are really about. yes well I do realise that the 6.30 pm slot is perhaps a little early for some people and late for the others but i am very grateful anyway. And we are definitely cheaper than Mud 11 , and our singer is definitely alive ( check out T rex on the Bill ) so i think we should consider ourselves blessed .
I can already hear you clamouring for details so here we go- St Leonards festival, Sat 17th July, Warrior gardens, St Leonards on sea, at 6.00 or thereabouts on the main stage , playing songs from our new album Freaks is Comin... and a few even newer songs as well.
It is free, so all skinflints are welcome, and there is unfortunately a ban on alcohol so you have to bring soft drinks with you, like mixrers without the alcolhol, but i wonder whether anyone would know the difference between a bottle of cranberry juice and a bottle of vodka mixed with cranberry juice in a cranberry juice bottle? probably not . Or Brandy and coke, instead of coke. Not that i am advocating the bringing of alcolhol, as if i would go anywhere near there, i was merely thinking aloud.
Anyway come and see our new band, shiny new trumpet and saxophone and thumping great titled bass player. All very tasty and entertaining .Main staGE 6PM oops hit the caps button again.
See you there

Back to the story..... Katdog continued to play as they always had, but Wil got itchy to get back on his kit, and started hunting for funk musicians. First came Max McNeilly ( To the Moon Alice) then Chris Piper ( ex Blue Wah Wah).Things got very funky and Red Diesel began to take the stage, going back to all the old festival haunts . After a year, Chris left to pursue fatherhood and Simon Dobell ( ex Hedphonic Orange and current Bad Head day) stepped in on guitar and trumpet. Max switched to bass and they began recording. Last summer Max,s own band To the Moon Alice became too busy and he left to try and catch a bit of stardom in London where he is today. Red diesel got a new bass player from a more latin/samba kind of background called Rob, and they began rehearsing and playing as Red Diesel again. Up to the minute, they are rehearsing for Small World, and mixing the tracks recorded with Max on bass. So we are up to date. Katdog still play regularly as a duo latest release Katdog live at the Rooms 2007) ( sometimes joined by Simon on trumpet, and Red Diesel play regularly too, and are planning to release the album still being mixed as soon as it isready!! Katdog are still very busy in the grassroots original music scene, and part of the team who put on the Bohemia Village Fayre, and soon to come, Bohemia village Nytes in St Leonards on Sea. If you are a person who doesn’t like 90 per cent of what you hear on the radio ,and you don’t understand why all the music you hear on the mainstream doesn’t touch you at all, then maybe you should look under the radar , scratch the surface a little and you might find something a little more interesting.
